MOVIE REVIEW : Seven Pounds

From now on, I'm going to try and review each new movie I see on this blog. I did see Australia the other week, which I loved... but I never got time. So let me start here.

SEVEN POUNDS

Directed by Gabriele Muccino
Starring Will Smith and Rosario Dawson

PLOT

An IRS agent with a fateful secret embarks on an extraordinary journey of redemption by forever changing the lives of seven strangers.

WHAT I THOUGHT

I really wasn't too sure about this film. I thought it looked quite good from the trailer, if a little mysterious. I had heard mixed things though. In the end, I decided to watch due to my love of Will Smith and the greatness that was Pursuit of Happyness.

What a terrific film.

A little confusing at first, quite hard to get into... but stick with it. You soon start to realise the plot. The films greatest strength is the fact that the plot isn't actually explained until the end. I can tell it's going to be really rewarding to watch a second time.

Will Smith's acting is once again, absolutely superb. I've watched him since Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and its just amazing to see how he's developed as an actor. I liked Rosario Dawson too... but thought Woody Harrelson should've been in it more.

Another note is that the music is wonderful. In the final scene... when the film reaches where it has been building too... the track was brilliant. One of my favourite for a while.

So... in conclusion... I really recommend this film. It can be quite hard to watch at times, but stick with it. It's worth it. I can't wait to see it for a second time.

BEST MOMENT

The awesome finale... when everything finally comes together, and how it all happens.
